2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Craig Ruth
Known affectionately as "Shorty" by nearly everyone he met, Clarence (Craig) M. Ruth, Jr., was not only a father but a very good friend to me. He was such an inspiration in living life to the fullest and being the best I could possibly be! He supported my wine venture with so much encouragement, pride and love—like only a father could.
Shorty left us in the summer of 2009, just as my wine venture was coming together. But I like to think that I'm keeping his memory alive with “Craig Ruth”, a wine I've named in his honor. And to further honor him, a portion of the proceeds from the 2007 vintage wine will go to an organization that was near and dear to his heart—the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund, which honors Marines by educating their children. Tasting NotesLike its namesake, Craig Ruth wine is full of life! You sit up and take notice as soon as you’re introduced. It’s vibrant, yet down-to-earth, with just enough spice to pique your interest. A deep ruby-hued red wine, it delivers a hint of toasty oak combined with nice red fruit notes. And just as a visit with Shorty would leave an impression that stayed with you for a while, this wine will linger on your palate long enough to bring a smile to your face. |
